ARTISTIC ATTITUDES MISSION STATEMENT
The purpose of this group is for the exchange of images and information/discussion related to the fine art approach to figurative photography and erotica. For our purposes erotica differs from pornography in having a high degree of artistic merit. Pornography by this definition has little or no artistic merit. The fine arts including photography have a long history of standards developed to evaluate the merits of a work. Erotica is intended to appeal to the aesthetic and sensual/sexual sensibilities of the viewer of images of the human body and could be said to deal with ideal images or sexual love. To further define or stipulate some terms, obscenity is material offensive to morality or decency; disgusting repulsive and lacking any redeeming value, such as child pornography and extreme fetish material.

One definition of "art" would be a depiction or expression of what is beautiful or of more than ordinary significance in the human condition. Subject to aesthetic criteria, the work is done with considerable craft and skill and creativity, recognizing accepted historical standard for such works. Fine photography shows both high levels of artistic and technical proficiency. Included in considerations are composition, lighting, posing, cropping and those things found in textbooks on photography and art. One way to evaluate an image would be to change the subject from female to male, would it still be a good image? And rarely it happens that the subject is so good, that it overcomes technical problems. And the converse, bad photography can ruin the best model. And rarely, an unpleasant subject like bondage can be so well done as to overcome the distasteful subject matter.
This will be a softcore non explicit group. This means no spread or penetration images.
Also appropriate here are vintage images, fantasy, romantic, cutting edge, digital, black&white and other kinds of drawings and paintings which are figurative in nature. Both male and female subjects are appropriate, and not all images have to be nudes. Your comments, opinions and humor are encouraged along with images.
We would rather see a few good images than hundreds of the usual bad porno images found in most groups. This group prefers quality over quantity. This is not a series-trading group; we prefer only the best from a series. If the series works best as a complete sequence, please post all of it. Individual images should be strong enough to stand-alone. Unique/interesting/unusual artistic images will find a home here. Original works are also encouraged as well as links of interest to the members. Previous postings may be used as a guide for content. New members may be moderated for a time.
What we do not want: child pornography (sexual activity or explicit genital pictures of models under 18). When genitals are incidental to the activity as in quality nudist material or work by artists like D. Hamilton, no problem here. The founder and moderators of these groups are not interested in fetish material with rare exceptions, particularly if the content is degrading to the model. Some bondage is so well done and creative as to be a theatre presentation captured on film. If in doubt, send to the owner/moderator first. These groups are moderated ; do not take it personally if a posting is deleted. If you find some post questionable, call it to the attention of the owner/moderator.
Quality nudist and Asian material is encouraged. We are NOT interested in the Playboy/Penthouse type of slick retouched studio glamour, and most of the scanner renderings which remove all skin tones. But high production values in lighting and posing and composition are valued. The usual men's magazine pornography is not to be found here, there are many other groups for that content. Experiment in what you post, do not hesitate about new and interesting material. Not everyone will like everything posted. That is a positive; over time our appreciation and understanding of the diversity of tastes will expand. We want to be a friendly and accepting group, able to disagree without being disagreeable.

We appreciate the clothing optional nudist/naturist life style, and good pictures of nudes particularly in outdoor settings.
Nudism is not pornography, and anyone coming here to find such material is going to be
very disappointed. There are very specific guidelines called the Dost Factors, they come
from a 1986 case: U.S. vs. Dost, and were later affirmed by the Ninth Circuit U.S.Court of Appeals. The Dost factors are used to help determine if an image contains the "lascivious exhibition of the genitals or pubic area" which would make an image "child pornography".
All images should comply with all applicable laws concerning image content.
